Statement of the Philippine Network of Food Security Programs in Support of the Striking Nexperia Workers

The Philippine Network of Food Security Programs (PNFSP) stands in solidarity with the striking workers of Nexperia in their fight for fair wages, job security, and dignified working conditions. As advocates for the right to food, we recognize that decent work and just compensation are fundamental to ensuring that workers and their families do not go hungry.

No worker should have to struggle to put food on the table while corporations reap massive profits. The fight of Nexperia workers is not just about wages—it is about justice, dignity, and the fundamental right to a life free from hunger and exploitation. A worker’s ability to access food, provide for their family, and live a life of dignity is directly tied to fair labor conditions.

As food security advocates, we emphasize that economic justice is food justice. When workers are underpaid, overworked, and denied their rights, it deepens food insecurity and poverty in our communities. We call on Nexperia to listen to the just demands of its workers, respect their rights, and ensure fair wages and humane working conditions.

We urge all sectors to support the Nexperia workers in their struggle. A just and sustainable society cannot exist while workers continue to suffer under corporate greed. We reaffirm our commitment to advancing the right to food alongside the fight for labor rights.
